What is interesting to me is that you would think he would be a total nerd. Well he may be one, but what is interesting is that he is married, and his wife was with him on line (she is hidden behind him in this picture). I never would have thought that the excitement of an Apple store would be so large in China as in the rest of the world. In recent history masses of people would be swept by a political movement, a rock band or even a sports team. Gadgets and computers are exactly the things that cause the same reaction in our current age. They also have become a major way we communicate in the workplace and or at home. Also gadgets and computers have opened the world to everyone, it is very hard for any government and or group to control all thought and information.

What is really a kick in the pants, is that he is also holding a picture of Steve Jobs. Just think about how in the not too distant past it may have been a picture of Mao instead. What an interesting change of society. This to me shows how now only the government in China is pretending that they are Communist.

Hey, I was on line recently to get my new iPhone 4 and get giddy with excitement over any Apple announcements (started buying Apple 12 years ago and never have looked back). Not once have I read or even heard it mentioned. That the accelerator issues that Toyota and or now it seems possibly Ford and Volkswagen as per rumors are having. Has it not been researched by governmental agencies and or Big Media to see if the electronics and or mechanically parts originate from China? Well they are more worried about crap like American Idol and or other BS to distract that they are not doing their jobs.

When I bought my 2007 Volvo, I had issues with sensors that had to be replaced in my accelerator and or other parts of my car(a few months in!). Three years later, now I realize that in the interest of keeping cheap labor running in China the big corporate interests are determined to sweep it under the rug. Yet Toyota has been the cause of 34 murders in my opinion since they were aware of problems and never did a mass recall. How is it that the same company who benefitted by poorly placed fuel tanks in American cars was able to then leapfrog the American brands in 10 years and now 20 years later also are as bad?

One word describes their fall, it is GREED.

Are we to become the borg?

Should we seed the Universe?

Michael Mautner, Research Professor of Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University believes that we have an obligation to colonize and seed planets and eco-systems for our use. It is odd that he may have fellow scientists who are more concerned in some cases falsifying data in the so call benefit of saving our planet.

But I digress, this professor has brought up something interesting to me. What if our travels in our future we cannot just simply survive out of our transporting ships, even with all the plans to introduce microbes to try to change the environment? Who is to say that we cause new viruses or diseases that resist our medicine and technology?

How then do we continue to thrive and or evolve as a species? Do we slowly start to implement other life into our collective of humanity and or mold and change them to fit us?

And finally how do we then choose what planets to do these acts? Who are we then to wipe out other life? Granted we kill other animals to survive since we need to eat. Do we eat these new creature? Will they taste like Chicken too?

15 year itch

Almost 15 years ago Jerry Garcia left this world, and for me it has never been the same. Have I seen great music and had excellent times? The answer is definitely yes! But I have been ruined for total musical enjoyment in his passing. I cannot explain it, he is one of those individuals who left a mark in my life. I saw the recent Dead tour, caught a couple of shows and they were great. But I was not fully happy; Jerry is always missing. You would think that 15 years would have healed the wound. Yet, Bob Weir and Phil Lesh have brought on a remarkable guitarist who sounds like Jerry and sings eerily like him as well, his name is John Kadlecik and he played the past ten years with Grateful Dead cover band called Dark Star Orchestra. I have been drawn to the first three shows as the band is now called furthur (http://www.furthur.net/) and I have to say, there are moments that in the music that has been lost these 15 years are alive for minutes or sometimes mere seconds. He sounds like Jerry no doubt, but he is not and to imagine the pressure of being asked to play with the remaining members of the band that you yourself idolize must be a humbling and nerve racking experience at first.

I am not sure what the point of this posting is, but I am happy that this late winter I will be able to go see the latest incarnation of the band I love and maybe, just maybe I can be a bit fulfilled.

Who does it harm anyway?

The story these past days of Steve McNair's murder brings about a topic that I argue and discuss with many people over the years. And that is that there are consequences to your actions. So if you think actions that others don't know about or are done for one's own self gratification can't affect others and or society at large is naive. Granted I as many others, have many flaws and have done stupid things not knowing the consequences of my actions. But we shall see in this case this little matter had ugly consequences.

Yes Steve was quite a football player. Who had a lot of success coming out of Division I-AA college ball at Alcorn State. He was known to be a generous man and was involved in many charities doing some good works for those in need. That is all good, but he did make some poor judgements in his actions. He obviously thought that this little matter with a young lady of 20 was just something trivial. I mean no one knew of this affair, his wife did not know as well as his 6 sons. So let's apply the, "It does not harm anyone" since this was a secretive affair. Now fast forward the days after his murder, he did harm many people! His wife, his family and his friends. Do you think his wife will ever be the same? What about his sons? Do they now have a normal relationship with women after this event? How about his close friends? Do their wives now look at them in a different way? Those who held him in a higher respect in the community? What is their thoughts? And finally, a young women who obviously was led to believe that she was important to this man, lost it and drove her to kill him.

Enough of Steve, let's move to Bernie.

Here is another man, who was respected in his community, who was involved doing good works for others. What did he do? He most probably started out the same way under the guise of "who does it harm anyway?". He too most likely did not think of his initial actions of being damaging. It most likely started with a small lie here, some money moved there. Until his actions seemed like it was a normal thing. Seriously who would it harm? He lied to people for close to 30 years! And he was enabled by many others who helped with the scheme as it grew.

At the end of the day, one needs to see what is important in this life. Which in my opinion, is family, your good friends and your good name. You can easily ruin them with a poor choice.

A return to the old ways.....very dangerous.......

Well the US media has now once again selected to not report on these happenings(click) in France.

This is significant. Why do I ask? It is the return to the left for France. See France since the war was a Socialist nation. Which is now teetering back to Communism. The trade Unions are now utilizing class envy and hatred as a means for power. Really what never is discussed that the direct opposite lies Fascism which allows for total control of the state by one single entity and does not rely on class warfare.

On May day this year we have a US government that is going down the road of corporate and trade union socialism. Look at the whole auto industry fiasco, we are funneling money to corporations and now trade unions! Really it is Socialism on steroids no matter how you disguise it or package it to the stupid here in the US. France on the other hand government wise was headed to corporate welfare as we have been doing for decades. Yet as you can see the trade unions are demanding they are entitled to any money and gains alone. Why do I bring up Fascism? It is slowly growing worldwide, and why it is of concern here by our current administration. It is almost like the start of the 21st century has returned to the early 20th century. Since we no longer espouse true capitalism and oddly enough Russia is now more capitalist than us. If the current socioeconomic situation worsens worldwide, whose side do we or others fall on?

Does Fascism once again take hold and cause disruptions? Does this new Marxism grow and spread causing more people to take sides? Many here in America believe it is business as usual, but fail to realize we are just a couple of incidences from another world conflict. What concerns me is that when the chips are down, where does one put their allegiances? Does one go towards the far right or the far left? As a country we no longer hold what are founding fathers built this country on. Who would have thought that Reagan was truly the last of his kind? I sure hope that in anyone's lifetime that they need to pick a side and maybe have to face friends, family and or countryman in a new grab of world dominance.

fare la bella figura

Just returned from Italy and let me tell you, this is not an exaggeration. The average working Joe in Italy is barely living a life. Looking at housing there, prices are 15 to 20 times the yearly salary still while we are dropping here in the US. It has been 8 years between visits to Italy and I have found that the Euro in reality has been a dismal failure for the poor and working class. The Euro has brought about major inflation and high prices in clothes and food. I predict that the Euro will not be around too much longer!

Take a look at my posting from December of 2007........

Read article here

I know I tend to be very hard and cynical when it comes to those living above their means. But the grand irony of the upcoming world recession is the fact that even if you do have a job, you will not be necessarily safe in not falling into poverty or hard times. There was a time when if you worked hard, you might be able to pull ahead. Yet, the cost of living has been jumping and the cost of things will not go down in the near future. Everyone is passing along their costs, which ultimately gets handed down to all the consumers out there. Now the strains of the questionable move to one currency is starting to show cracks throughout the European Union. Well intentioned left wing ideology is now showing that it is ideal in theory than in practice once again. To calm the working class they were told that the move to the Euro was going to bring nothing but prosperity! Well the cows are coming home and there is less milk to go around. Just think, the European countries for the most part have many more safeguards out there for their citizens than Americans do. So if there are many going hungry before their next paycheck, push will come to shove. Not until the masses hit the streets will the shit be hitting the fan, because the price of pasta is starting to get out of reach of the Italians who have a job.

Escape from Rio?

Well it is interesting to see that how a self professed leftist can explain this, read this

After reading the article the first thing came to mind is Escape from New York (Click here), which I enjoyed greatly when it first came out in the theaters and still like now. I thought this story can help in a new sequel!

I can see it now, Lula is on a small flight and drug lords sabotage his flight. Before his plane crashes he lands in a pod in one of the walled off Favelas. What to do if you are the government? Send in a man who claims to be for the same poor that are walled off. Who is this hero? How about Hugo Chavez? i can see it now, he goes in to the Favela armed with free oil for all the poor so that he can find his lost comrade who has moved to the center and forgot about the revolution. Yet in this case I hope the hero dies.

Destroy your TV?

Now that the hysteria has been quieted by the delay of the DTV transition, Read here. I have one thing to say. Who cares? Really I watch less and less TV. I do watch the occasional soccer (futbol) match. Watch NFL games during the season, and catch St. John's massacres on the basketball court. ESPN is mind numbing and I can't watch more than 10 minutes, it is like you are told what to believe about what you just saw. I at times questioned whether I saw the same sporting event as the commentators. But lets say you are one of the few who does not have cable and have an old analog set up. Is it really worth spending $40 of the governments money to continue to watch TV especially in our current climate? The pablum that is spewed by cretins in the media world is astounding and frightening at the same time. People are obviously dumb enough to believe the BS said. Yes there are worthwhile channels such as the Discovery Channel or the History channel, but that is two out of hundreds! This is a great time to tune out as Timothy Leary would say. The world would be better off. I remember back in college one of the guys shot his TV with a shotgun and it looked a bit like this picture. Guess what he did not miss TV afterwards.

How much true history is hidden from us??

In the planet of the apes, the head scientist for the apes was Dr. Zaius who did his part to hide the fact that earth was once inhabited and dominated by an intelligent human species. He would hunt down the astronauts who traveled in time and returned to earth after their unfortunate situation. There was a scene in the movie in which the apes stumbled upon a cave with the proof of human intelligence and has it destroyed.

Now there is an article (click) from the Smithsonian that shows that previously at a site in Turkey, scientists had ignored an ancient site as a mere graveyard(Sure it was only a graveyard). Yet, it actually shows proof that as a species we were much more advanced 10,000 years ago. If you don't pay attention, we are usually told that we were barely farming then and that Stone hedge, Greece and Egypt was the beginnings of civilization. I am starting to call bullshit and I ask, what else has been distorted and or covered up?

Well they claim that this was only a temple; even now the spin of what they found is amazing to me. They have uncovered an area so small that it will take another 50 years to continue to find it's true purpose. Also how do we know everything that is found will be reported? If they find evidence of something so mind blowing that it would change human society drastically will they be like Dr. Zaius and destroy it? My guess is that will be the case and has been for a long time. What else has been left uncovered and destroyed? On a funny note the Simpson's Dr. Zaius theater show.....

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v17.nonxt2.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3Ddab6f8b1ec41c2df%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1331135912%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3D738680858D19E4BEF840C62487B6B1D60807AD0.1FE093F5181AE075AF8B80069986975D9BAA262B%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3Ddab6f8b1ec41c2df%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3Dr8Xf-qE6A1PmoEorskWwC42IoXs&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />

The new bubble?

We live in uncertain times and not only is the world economy breaking down. It is being reported that car dealerships are closing their doors because they cannot sell enough cars to stay opened; people cannot get car loans anymore! Well as the prices of homes kept going up unrealistically and the stock market had exuberant expectations of continued growth. There was another bubble that was expanding and has yet to explode. And boy will it be a monumental explosion.

There is mounting evidence of the credit crunch on loans here and here. Why? The excuse for the past decade was that colleges needed to update their IT infrastructures to better meet the needs for the future professional getting their degree. So the tuition rates were growing more than double the inflation rate per year. That worked fine when we were still a true capitalist system. As we have become more a service economy, we have many experts in paper shuffling and not enough people with technical knowledge; such as carpenters, electricians and plumbers for example. We produce nothing (oh yeah, we produce cigarettes, Jet engines, John Deere equipment and porn and not much else) that the economy can build on. So it will be interesting how many smaller colleges will close their doors and schools merge to survive the collapse. Well the State schools will always be there to pick up the pieces.........

What will replace American Capitalism?

Let's face it. American Capitalism has failed. There I said it. We are having a massive social/economical breakdown in the Western World, just as the Soviet union did in the early nineteen ninety's. I found this picture that captures what capitalism that worked looked like. But what worked was changed and thus was doomed to fail.

1) We eliminated the jobs that allowed the working classes (on the bottom of this chart) to hold up this system. How did we do this? We sent their jobs to Asia that paid a living wage that one could raise a family with. What you can't do that in the service economy flipping or building burgers? All so that the wealthy corporations can make more money to meet the needs of wealthy investors.

2) We lowered the standard of living on the middle class. There is a layer that falls between the working class (on the bottom) and the Rich Class (above the working). They were slowly pushed towards the bottom of this chart to help prop up the system. Yet the Ruling class kept spending like nothing changed.

3) We keep spending more on taxes and receiving less......look around the globe we are starting to pay more in taxes than our so called "bad" socialist friends, and have not much to show for it. We still have to pay for health care, which is quickly becoming out of reach for many.

4) The military has been elevated past the court system. Just as the Soviet Union kept spending on it's military until their own oblivion. So have we! We now use the courts as a diversion to the problems at hand. Deciding whether who really won an election, to even discussing Gay marriage. Both of which at the end of the day pulls the wool over our eyes.

5) Poor leadership. Has the last three Presidents even inspired anyone to really be proud of our country and economic system? Think about it! The emperor has no clothes......a Senate and Congress that should be cleaned out.

6) Lastly, the greatest wealth redistribution in history, to further enrich the few on the backs of everyone else. The Real Estate scheme will go down in the history books!

So the question is what will replace the broken system? Russia now are better capitalists than we are. We have nationalized our banking system, but not our Health. Russia has taken advantage of the dirty politics used to weaken Yugoslavia and then Serbia with the Kosovo region. So much so that the words; "Cold War" have been used by Russia as a means to show their seriousness about the annexation of both Abkazia and South Ossetia regions of Georgia.

I would like to personally thank President Bush for the return of fear of a greater war. Now a whole new generation of people can feel the paranoia of nuclear assault. On an international level we pushed for regions of countries to be seperated based on ethnic makeup. What we failed to see is the pandora box we opened. Many former Soviet block regions have heavy Russian populations and this will now continue to allow Russia to expand its borders. Who will stop them? Since the emperor has no clothes. Nato will not and lacks any real pull that the UN does have. We do know that the UN has minimal pull at best. The US government, has overextended in Afghanistan and Iraq and has never fully recovered with the elimination of troop and bases under the Clinton administration. Thus we do not have what it takes to take on Russia because of our dirty politics. Guess what? We have used the Kurds as a means of weakening other ethnic groups in Iraq, which has caused tensions in Turkey and Iran.

Germany and France always have their own agenda and since Germany was once seperated into two would have no interest in stopping other Russian people from reuniting with Russia. China has many of it's own problems and would love to annex some of it's own neighbors based on the American formula of heavy ethnic makeup of a region. So in twenty years time in our future, the map of this world will be much different, thanks to the biggest miscalculation of breaking up Yugoslavia.............and by the last eight years of dirty politics.

Don't hate when it's not due!

In the world of bashing business, especially big business. Starbucks in my opinion is very low on the totem pole. Read this article.

Starbucks has become the favorite of insane left wing haters as a company to bash. It is now trendy to bash them instead of McDonalds. And I have to ask why? Because they make great coffee? That they give, even their part time employees benefits? That they provide a great environments in the neighborhoods that they are located? It is not like they are cheap and squeeze their suppliers out of business and create massive job losses as Walmart does.

So I have to assume that they have been picked as the bastion to show the widening divide between the haves and the haves nots. Hey if you can't go everyday like wealthier people then it is ok to bash. Hey, I love small business and try to support them when I can. But what is their to not like with Starbucks? If you don't want a $5 Latte you can have the coffee of the day for under $2. I will pay the extra 10-20 cents for a Starbucks over Dunkin Donuts. So why has not Dunkin' Donuts not received any grief as well??? Hmmmm.............well I am buying a Starbucks as soon as I am by one this week.

One thing leads to another

First it started by people buying cheap crap at.........

Then people started making bad choices in large purchases....

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic; is the article.

There are two things that really stick out in this discovery. First of all, we are told that Big foot does not exist. Yet, here we discover a tribe of people who have had no contact with our modern world or white Europeans! Hey I talk to many people who believe that the modern age is the cat's meow. But does this tribe live any less a significant fulfilled life than we do? They seem to be living a natural life that our ancestors did many centuries ago. And you know what? It is about to be ruined by our modern age.

I have heard the argument that because something was done before, that it does not make it right or the best way to live. I have to disagree with that on many levels. These people only take what they need from the land and do not over consume. They do not destroy the jungle and wildlife and leave it barren like we do. They don't need TV telling them how to think. They do their thinking on their own. They don't need political systems, they have an elder run the show. They don't use the latest fashions, they use loin cloths. They talk around the fire, something we do less and less is talk! And they use plants for their medicinal use and are not told what to use and restricted by an oppressive system that is in place for wealth generation. Their reality has a simplicity but maintains stability. Things are done as they always were. They are not constantly told that everything goes and to forget what works or is right. They don't suffer from diseases that are brought about poor behaviors of the modern age. And they have not been ruined by the search of wealth. They to me are truly free!

Secondly, I am no tree hugger and I don't buy into the phony environmental movement. But how did we come into contact with these people? Well it seems that there is so much logging going on that we have reached places in the Amazon that once thought impossible to reach. Now that is the big problem. The biodiversity of the jungles are in trouble. There are many plants that may hold future medicinal benefit for mankind that are now in jeopardy. As well as the uniqueness and innocence of this and other outsiders. I hope that we respect their right to be left alone!

The irony of free market business (Free Tibet)

We hear of how great it is for China to open up it's market to free market forces (AKA. producing stuff on the cheap). To have repressed and stolen a country and done everything possible to kill off it's culture has no excuse. Then in secret arrest and kill monks and people before the olympics is even more frightful.

When one reads the attached story here. One cannot seem to get over the irony of how a company in China itself, can be indirectly a supporter of the Free Tibet movement. Remember they will make anything cheap, based on slave and low wage labor. No matter what it is! China has become the wild west of manufacturing. The government agencies are so corrupt they do not even realize that companies there; everyday are making things that not only kill and harm animals and people worldwide but they are now harming their own interests because of the sake of money and profit. Wow, just to think this used to happen only in America at one time.

We are no better than the rest of the world, sad times!

Read Here

After posting a story on my blog a while back about how working Italians were wearing their Sunday best to go to a soup kitchen after church broke my heart because they could not afford food before the end of the month. What was worse pasta was becoming a luxury! I have to now post about the American version of this story. We have working Americans who now are also in the same situation. Yes, work helps pays the bills, but when your bills are so high that you need help to eat? Now of course, in some cases people spent way too much on housing and put themselves in heavy debt. But it seems that people who make decent money are now caught up in this whirlpool. I attached a picture of a burger, which is an American food staple. It seems that it is now becoming a luxury for many. Sad, just sad.

Pay your taxes....or have your PRIVATE property taken from you!

Read here

Remember, being part of a consumer society means that you really do not own your property. You are paying the government for the privilege to be called either a home debtor or a home owner. Because being $30,000 in arrears deserves losing your $1 million dollar property? None the less, this will become more of a issue as we progress in a spiral downward economically. So the government has found a way to make money on those who either fall on hard times or claim their rights to their land. Little do people remember that the Native Americans were scammed from their land and they will be too if they don't walk in line...... Of course I understand the need for taxes, but more and more people will refuse to pay them, because they are getting out of hand and they rather eat than starve. I for one will not encourage this behavior, but I understand. This is most likely happening more and more and is a troubling issue that the police state is growing

Hits from the Bong.....

Well the story that moses was a drugged out Hippy are back in the media again. This story has once again given me hope. It took 8th graders, to prove once again that we have hope that we can overcome the general malaise in complacency that Gen X's and Y's have. Pennies are legal tender, so these kids did something to prove their point. Giving them detention is bullshit and they did the right thing in apologizing which makes them even smarter than the school and cafeteria jackasses. The superintendent who of course does not get mentioned in this story, got a big surprise that his liberal fascist tactics are not going to be accepted. "Well if i knew about it I would have done things differently." What a load of shit, the kids used smarts to tell you that you are a jackass. Yet there is one who will now get my business and praises. Trader Joe's has officially told the Food and Beverage industry to get bent if they are looking to bring Chinese grown and produced food into their stores. Lets cut to the chase here, China is not looking to bring in safe food here. It took a near catastrophe in our food chain to wake some of the sheeple up! We may have had some problems that were quickly covered up to not effect our corporate interests. I might be foolish in saying that maybe there is a genuine concern for the American consumer in the USA (HAHAHAHA, sure!). Who knows if the rest of the supermarket industry claims their concern as a marketing ploy. Hell we might not have any jobs in our future, but damnit we will be safe eating our food from Trader Joe's!

The 2003 Blackout that was blamed on a squirrel or was it the Canadians?

Read this article here

The cause of the biggest blackout in North American history (2003) was most likely leaked by this story above. So as I suspected, the trees and squirrels in Ohio did not bring down the power grids. And the evil Canucks from the north did not cause mayhem to piss us off. So now we find that terrorists can almost at will bring down our power systems over the internet. Huh? Does that mean that Osama from the comfort of his laptop can bring down the Pentagon without a plane? Will he cause mayhem and disrupt our Presidential election? Or better yet, do we allow a breakdown in our powergrid to scare the public and push through more unecessary security spending? Call me cynical but I can see this bullshit happening! What really is fundamentally wrong is that the companies and slaughter houses that will use such animals will not be required to state so on packaging. A car that the poor and working man can buy! Grant it you would need to live in India to buy one at first. If you lay down $2500 you too can drive off the lot in a brand new Tata Nano! Just think once you have driven off the lot, your new Nano probably will instantly devalue down to $2200. Is this the dawn of the new Yugo? Who says that history can't repeat itself. Now of course if you truly need AC and a pedestrian side mirror and another windshield wiper that will cost you! No radio, no problem! Just wear your iPod or MP3 player as you slowly drive past the cattle and waves of people on the road giving them the finger as you wear a big grin doing so! Really why would you need AC anyway? Just go Scotch air and open your windows! Now by the time one arrives here in the US. Between all the extra safety items, the AC the high end radio, the two side view mirrors and two wipers. Let's not forget taxes and destination charges.....it should cost $10,000.......well so much for the $2500 car!

Scientology

Germany has pushed for the banning of this cult.
